Trail: Vasquez Rocks and the Pacific Crest Trail

Length: A Few Miles to over 2,000 miles are possible from this point

Difficulty: Easy to Difficult/Strenuous

Vasquez

Vasquez Rocks is famous for the rocks that have been thrust up by earthquake activiy in the area. There are several short loop and one way hikes inside the park, plus the Pacific Crest Trail or PCT crosses through this area. And, if you're feeling adventurous, you can head south to Mexico or North to Canada! Even walking a few miles on the PCT can be an event. We suggest that a perfect hik here might be 2 miles (4 miles RT)on the PCT> Since this is a very dry and hot area, it is suggested that summer hikes be avoided. Be sure to take plenty of water and supplies. In warm months, watch out for Rattlesnakes!

How to Get to The Trailhead: From SR 14 North, exit at Agua Dulce Road. Turn Left. Follow Signs to Vasquez Rocks County Park. Turn Right into the entrance, then follow the road to the left until it ends. Park. The PCT will be in front of you. For Mexico, head left. For Canada, head to the right.
